Shelly Mini PM Gen3 Wiring An Outlet.jpg

Overview

Mini PM is designed for shallow wall boxes where larger relays and smart switches don’t fit. Wiring is simple, as the relay only requires neutral, line, and load.

If you’re not experienced with electrical wiring, you should work with a licensed electrician to complete this solution.

Important:

Mini PM is passive power measurement, meaning there is no relay to accidentally turn off.
Mini PM Gen3 requires neutral to function
Maximum load is 16 amps.

Instructions

  1. Turn off the breaker controlling this outlet.

  2. Use a voltage detector to make sure the circuit is not energized.

  3. Connect a neutral wire from the load center (breaker panel) to Mini 1PM’s N terminal.

  4. Connect a neutral wire from the load center (breaker panel) to the outlet’s silver screw.

  5. Connect line (hot) from the load center (breaker panel) to Mini 1PM’s L terminal.

  6. Connect load (the wire going to your outlet’s brass screw) to Mini 1PM’s O terminal.

Best product for critical outlets

Shelly Mini PM Gen3 uses Shelly’s smallest form factor enclosure. This makes the product ideal for:

  • Shallow gang box installation

  • Power measurement

  • Outlets powering refrigerators, freezers, or critical equipment

Note: Shelly Mini PM Gen3 has passive power measurement of the attached circuit. There is no relay to deenergize the circuit. The device uses a hard connection between the L and O terminals to ensure that power is never interrupted, even in the event of device failure.
