Updating Firmware on a Shelly Device

Shelly releases periodical firmware updates to improve the performance and enhance the security of Shelly devices. These updates take place within the Shelly Smart Control app and take a few moments to complete.

To update the firmware of a Shelly device via the Smart Control app,

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Tap the device to update

  1. Tap the Firmware version dropdown.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. The option to enable auto-update is presented, as is the current and available firmware version. Tap Update, then tap Update again.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

 

 

 

 

  1. The device updates

  • The update process may take several moments and require resetting the device. It is not recommended to perform a firmware update if the device is not physically reachable.

  • Certain devices may need to be “awoken” to apply the update. In this case, once the update has been completed within the Smart Control app, press the device’s button for the firmware update to take effect.
