Shelly Device Inclusion - WiFi Access Point

Shelly Device Inclusion - WiFi Access Point

To connect a Shelly device to a Wi-Fi network using its access point (AP), follow these steps:

  1. Power on the Shelly Device
Ensure the device is properly installed and powered on. When powered, the Shelly device will broadcast its own Wi-Fi network (SSID) in AP mode. The SSID typically includes "Shelly" and other identifying characters (e.g., "Shelly1-XXXXXX").

  2. Connect to the Shelly Access Point
Open the Wi-Fi settings on your phone, tablet, or computer. Look for the Shelly device's SSID and connect to it. No password is required unless you have previously configured one.

  3. Access the Shelly Web Interface
Open a web browser and type 192.168.33.1 into the address bar. This will take you to the Shelly device's web interface.

  4. Enter Wi-Fi Credentials

    • Navigate to the "Internet & Security" or equivalent section in the web interface.

    • Select "Wi-Fi Mode - Client."

    • Enter your home Wi-Fi network's SSID and password in the appropriate fields.

    • Optionally, configure additional settings such as enabling a backup Wi-Fi network or setting a static IP address if needed.

  5. Save Settings and Reboot
Click "Save" to apply the changes. The Shelly device will reboot and attempt to connect to your home Wi-Fi network.

  6. Verify Connection
After rebooting, check your router's connected devices list to find the new IP address of your Shelly device. Use this IP address in your browser to access the Shelly interface on your home network.

  7. Optional: Add Device to Shelly App
Open the Shelly app on your mobile device, ensure it is connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and add the device using its IP address or by scanning for devices on the network.
